(She/They)

Kim Dressman is a Queer, non-binary therapist born and raised in Chicago. Growing up, Kim witnessed family members and friends struggle with mental health challenges, addiction, intergenerational trauma, and systemic injustice. Kim is an advocate of physical and mental wellness, especially for those within the LGBTQIA+ community. She/they believe that access to quality health and mental care is a human right.

Kim obtained her Masters Degree in Clinical Social Work from Loyola University Chicago in 2024 and is currently working on obtaining her/their PhD in Social Work from Loyola University Chicago. Kim has experience working with adolescents, emerging adults, and adults. She/they has worked in individual, group, and family settings. She/they specializes in supportive and affirming spaces for transgender and gender-diverse individuals, LGBTQIA+ adults, neurodivergent individuals, and trauma survivors navigating life’s challenges. Kim’s practice is grounded in deep respect for each person’s lived experience, and she/they bring a compassionate, identity-affirming lens to every session. She/they understands how healing can feel complex when needing to move through systems that weren’t built with you in mind. Kim aims to help co-create a space where the client’s story is honored and where their truth is held with care. She/they value the client's autonomy and are an advocate for meeting clients where they are in their healing journey

With a background in healthcare and community mental health, Kim draws on trauma-informed, relational, and strengths-based approaches to support clients in reconnecting with their agency, creativity, and inner resilience. Whether exploring identity, processing trauma, or seeking grounding during a period of transition, Kim aims to meet clients with empathy, curiosity, and a deep belief in their capacity to heal.
